Breaking Barriers on Ice is back , and we’re excited to celebrate this milestone! Hosted by the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, Levy Restaurants, and Century21 J Carter & Company, this inclusive event welcomes individuals of all ages with special needs.
Breaking Barriers is a free, inclusive event designed for individuals of all ages with special needs or physical disabilities. It offers a unique opportunity to experience the joy of being on the ice—whether on skates, in a wheelchair, in a chair, or simply walking in shoes. With the help of dedicated volunteers, participants can safely glide, roll, or walk across the ice in a fun, supportive, and empowering environment.
This year, we’ve enhanced the experience with additional gifts in the registration bags and invited organizations that specialize in employment and resources for participants and their families.
We are thrilled to share that our event has doubled in size this year, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support! Due to safety guidelines and the fact that we can only allow a limited number of people on the ice at one time, we will unfortunately need to close further registrations.
For guests who are already registered, the day will be split into two sessions to accommodate everyone safely. Please keep an eye on your email for your designated time slot, which will be sent out soon.
Thank you all again for your enthusiasm and support—this amazing turnout is because of you!
- Safety Gear: Participants should wear a helmet with a strap (bicycle helmets are acceptable).
- Clothing: Dress warmly in comfortable layers, and wear tennis shoes.
- Recommendations: Gloves, head coverings, and scarves are strongly encouraged for added warmth.
Join us for a fun-filled day on the ice and valuable resources! We look forward to seeing you there!
